Bought in vials used as blades when used on someone that person will go insane swinging at people randomly after about one minute they will collapse and die at which if Ezio is too close a guard will shove him a crowd will gather around then when the poisoned person dies will start to disperse this cannot be used to kill assassination targets but if used on a guard near your target the guard may hit or kill them.
