"Poindexter" was the name given to a custom model Abstergo Industries autonomous armored SUV that largely resembled a Humvee.

Description

Poindexter was a white armored vehicle with disability-friendly access via a ramp to the rear. Its outside panels were noted of being of a similar appearance to that of the AM General Humvee.[1] It was also bulletproof and extremely resistant to large amount of automatic gunfire.[2]

Poindexter was also equipped with an onboard artificial intelligence which responded to its name and commands issued by Isaiah and later Sean Molloy. The AI voice was polite and enunciated. It also featured automatic doors.[1] It was also connected to the Abstergo servers and had telecommunication, and navigational functionalities.[3]

History

Poindexter was used by the former Templar and Instrument of the First Will, Isaiah, to transport the wheelchair bound teenager Sean Molloy to and from his Animus sessions from the monastery in a mountainous region of Sweden to the chapel up the hill, a four minute drive. Isaiah found it odd that Sean employed a level of manners to the AI pilot.[1]

After Sean had provided what Isaiah needed he was abandoned inside the Animus, though he broke out by himself and found his way to where Poindexter was parked. Using its onboard computer, he contacted Victoria Bibeau in The Aerie. She provided him with coordinates for his friends who were also in Sweden at the time, which he then punched into Poindexter's navigation system.[3] Poindexter drove for over forty minutes to the rescue of Owen Meyers, Grace Collins, and Natalya Aliyev on the outskirts of Västerås. After ending the call to Bibeau, Poindexter drove them to the airstrip while the teenagers talked amongst themselves. Arriving right at the ramp of the jet chartered by Bibeau, Sean and Poindexter said their goodbyes.[2]
