The Philosopher's Stone.

The Philosopher's Stone is an alchemical substance that can turn several metals into gold, and is also capable of creating the Panacea.

Giovanni Borgia accidentally discovered the formula when he took a look at the Book. After he wrote it down, Bombastus used it to create the substance.
