Periphetes was a bandit who roamed the road from Athens to Troezen in Greek mythology.

The son of Hephaistos and Anticleia, Periphetes wielded a bronze club which he used to attack unsuspecting travelers. He was later killed by the King of Athens, Theseus, in Argolis during his return journey to Attika.[1]

By the 5th century BCE, a site and allegedly where he died was dedicated to him near Epidaurus, named after his club.[1]
