Periander (died c. 585 BCE) was the Tyrant of Korinth, whose reigned from 527 BCE to 585 BCE brought about a prosperous time in the polis history and made it one of the wealthiest city states in Greece.

During his reign, the seaport town of Lechaion was built which served as a a port for Korinth.[1]
