Pennsylvania is a state in the mid-eastern region of the United States. Pennsylvania is bordered by New York, Ohio, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, and New Jersey.

Pennsylvania was the meeting site of the first Continental Congress in 1774. The second Continental Congress also met in Pennsylvania for the creation and signing of the Decralation of Independence.

The colony of Pennsylvania was one of the thirteen colonies that claimed independence from Great Britain during the American Revolution.
