Patay is a commune in north-central France.

History

On 18 June 1429, it was the site of the final battle of the Loire Campaign, part of the French Army's efforts to regain their sovereignty in the Hundred Years' War. French forces led by La Hire with Jeanne d'Arc among their ranks, defeated the English, driving John Fastolf to retreat and John Talbot and Thomas Scales,[1] among others were captured by the French.[2]
