Obsidian Eye

The Obsidian Eye was a spherical object made of obsidian glass which belonged to the Cyclops of Kephallonia during the 5th century BCE.
History
In 431 BCE, the prosthetic was stolen by the Spartan mithios Kassandra on the suggestion of her friend Markos to hold for ransom against the Cyclops.[1] Confronting the Cyclops, instead of giving him his eye back, Kassandra implanted it in a goat's backside, infuriating the Cyclops.[2]
A year later, Markos found the eye and invested in it, hoping to double its value, although the money he gained from it he promptly lost on another far-fetched endeavor.[3]
Legacy
In 2018 when Layla Hassan relived the memories of Kassandra via a degraded genetic sample found on the Spear of Leonidas using her Animus HR-8.5, it simulated an alternate version of events. In it Kassandra reclaimed the eye when she killed the goat that had it, where it was valued at 2,750 drachmae.[2]
