Concept art of Múspell's Wall

Múspell's Wall was a heavy shield of grim countenance. Named after the realm of Múspellsheimr from Norse mythology, the shield face held 17 embedded skulls, which were said to be from enemies slain by the jötunn and then used as decoration with the intent of warding off foolish foes.

During the Viking expansion into Anglo-Saxon England in the 9th century, the shield was made available to the shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan through an Animus modification by Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relieved her memories in 2020.[1]
