Mycenae

Mycenae was an ancient city situated northeast of Argos in Argolis, Greece. It is best known for being the home of King Agamemnon.

One of the oldest cities in Greece, dating from the 3rd millenium BCE, its walls were said to be the work of the Cyclopes. The city was later abandoned in the 5th century BCE, before being occupied by a group of bandits.[1]

Agamemnon's tomb was also connected to and situated nearby, which was explored by the Spartan misthios Kassandra during the Peloponnesian War.[1]
