Monks' District

The Monks' District was the residences of Buddhist monks near the Koyasan Danjo Garan in Kii, Japan.

History

In 1582, the Kakushiba ikki members Fujibayashi Naoe and Yasuke arrived at the district after discovering a dead monk and Kyonyo's contact to be the head monk. Realizing the monk was being targeted, they all planned to ambush the attacker at night. Putting out the lights, Naoe and Yasuke waited until nighttime and then confronted the bounty hunter Toro. When they ultimately killed Toro, they recovered a bow Call of Koyasan from his personal effects before leaving to meet with Kyonyo about confronting the hunters' leader Tsuchi-Gumo.[1]
