Midalstífla

Midalstífla was the western dam in northern Svaladal, Svartálfaheimr. During the Muspel invasion of the realm, jötnar warriors made a base at the bottom of the dam as they guarded a portal to Ginnungagap.
History
In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Svartalfheim, the Æsir lord Havi traveled towards the dam after catching a trail of the Muspel warlord Surtr's daughter Eysa being taken by the Muspel scientist Calder. At the foot of one of the dam's statue, Havi surmised that Calder may use the Salakar to steal Eysa's hugr. Arriving there, he found bodies of Muspel guards and then an unconscious Eysa. Before he could help her, Havi was challenged by Calder and they began to fight. After a lengthy fight, Havi bested Calder, who dropped the Salakar. Awake, Eysa picked up the Salakar and stole Calder's hugr herself. Realizing her father was using his own people, Eysa allied with Havi against her father.[1]
Behind the scenes
Depending on either dam in Svartalfheim, Havi may have chosen to enter the portal at Midalstífla after wearing all the pieces of armor of the Jotun Armor Set.[2]
