Michael Collins (16 October 1890 – 22 August 1922) was a leading figure in the Irish War of Independence, known for his role in organizing guerrilla warfare and intelligence operations against British forces. He later helped negotiate the Anglo-Irish Treaty and played a key part in the founding of the Irish Free State.[1] During the events of the war, Collins worked with the great-grandmother of Christopher Darby. In November 2013, Darby brought up his familial connection to Collins as a possible new time period for an Abstergo Entertainment project.[2]
