The Mercenary (real name presumed to be Rocco Tiepolo) is a multiplayer character in Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and a unlockable character. He wields a short sword. To be unlocked the player has to be at level 45.
In Project Legacy Fiora Cavazza is sent to Tiepolo's camp to select mercenaries for Cesare's army. They get along well and he displays extensive knowledge of his men's skills.
