Marie Arnaud (died June 1848) was a Parisian violinist and mother of acrobat Pierrette Arnaud.

Biography

Very little is known about Marie's past, except she met and another Parisian musician and had a daughter, Pierrette. Experienced as a violinist, she and her husband worked long for the orchestra of Paris Hippodrome for every bit of money. In 1848,riots occurred due to the National Workshops' closing as both she and her husband went to protest with the other insurgents.[1] Both parents gave Pierrette to Major Wallin of the Aurora Equestrian Troupe to watch over and protect as they protested.[2] However, both Marie and her husband were killed by police fire as Pierrette was left in the care of Wallin and his troupe.[1]
