Marcian
Marcian (Latin: Flavius Marcianus Augustus; Greek: Μαρκιανος; 392 – 26 January 457) was Byzantine Emperor from 450 to his death in 457. His claim to the throne rested on his marriage to Pulcheria, who had been very politically influential in the reign of her late brother.
The Column of Marcian in Constantinople was dedicated to him.[1]
