Magistrate of Chalkis
The magistrate of Chalkis during the early years of the Peloponnesian War dealt with a criminal organization called The Dagger which operated out of Skyros.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Around 431 BCE, the Chalkis suffered from the deprivations of the crime syndicate known only as "The Dagger". With the help of his slave, Agapios, Chalkis' magistrate found leads to uncover their identity and location but were unable to act on them. However, they uncovered that The Dagger's leader was called the "The Kingfisher", the same nickname that Agapios' brother Neritos bore when they were young. When the misthios Kassandra came to Chalkis City to help them, they all learned of The Kingfisher, which led Agapios believing his long-dead brother Neritos was the Kingfisher. The magistrate asked Kassandra to follow on the leads and uncover the truth, to which she agreed.[1]
After completing her mission,[2][3][4] Kassandra confirmed with the magistrate and Agapios of Neritos being the Kingfisher and his operation based out of Skyros. After hearing this, Agapios ran off to find his brother, and the sympathetic magistrate stopped his guards from chasing him. He then asked Kassandra to aid him in ridding The Dagger once and for all. Once she agreed, the magistrate readied his men to storm the Temple of Achilles.[5]
Arriving at the Smuggler's Dock of Skyros, the magistrate and his soldiers engaged in combat with The Dagger's men. Kassandra arrived to assist the magistrate in defeating their enemies. Together, the magistrate and Kassandra fought their way to the temple, where they found Agapios confronting Neritos. There, Agapios pleaded with Kassandra for a chance at redeeming Neritos. Whether or not Kassandra acquiesced, Neritos remained hostile, and she was forced to kill him.[6]
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
Depending on the player's choice, the magistrate may set Agapios free after Neritos' death or feel remorse if Neritos ultimately kills him.
