Louis Godin (1705 – 1759) was a French astronomer and member of the French Academy of Sciences. IN mid 1735, he petitioned the French governor of Saint Domingue, Pierre, Marquis de Fayet to allow the use of a French warship in the upcoming French Geodesic Mission.
