Lightning Zeus

Lightning Zeus was a gigantic marble statue of the Greek god Zeus, located on Mount Ainos in Kephallonia.

The Spartan misthios Kassandra climbed the statue in around 431 BCE. Later when she visited the town of Megara in Megaris, she met a blind beggar who asked her to describe the statue and island.[1]

Trivia

  • In the game, the statue was depicted as such to mirror the geophysical phenomena of Mount Ainos, which was known for its thunderstorms.
  • The statue serves as a viewpoint in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey.
