La Volpe
- "They call me many things: Murderer. Tagliagole (Cutthroat). Thief. But you may call me La Volpe."
- ―La Volpe, introducing himself.
La Volpe (The Fox) is a master thief and a member of the Assassins Brotherhood. According to his database entry, very little information is known about La Volpe, and any that is seems mythical. He is said to have robbed the Pope's carriage without any guards noticing, including the Pope who was sitting inside. One night in 1467, he was seen on the rooftops of the Palazzo della Signoria, the Palazzo Medici, and Santa Croce, all at the same time. It is also said that he is immortal and can see through buildings, perusing the contents inside.
Ezio first meets him in Florence when he is seeking a way to get close to Francesco de' Pazzi. Ezio's money is stolen by a thief, whom he chases to La Volpe. La Volpe introduces himself, and knows Ezio's name before he can say anything. He claims that it is his "business" to know everything that goes on in Florence. He tells Ezio about where Francesco de' Pazzi and the other conspirators will meet, and leads him to the Santa Marie Novella. La Volpe reveals that catacombs run underneath the city and shows Ezio the entrance to the underground area.
