Knossos Palace

Knossos Palace was a palace complex and capital of Greek city-state of Knossos, on the island of Crete. Believed to have been built in the 17th century BCE, the palace was also built atop an Isu vault housing the Minotaur, a hybrid beast created as part of the Olympos Project.

By the 5th century BCE Knossos, and the Knossos Palace resided within the territory of Messara. Sometime during the Peloponnesian War, the palace was visited by the Spartan misthios, Kassandra.[1]

Trivia

  • The palace measured about 13,000 square meters and was made up of several rooms around a central courtyard.
