Kara (weapon)

A kara is an Indian bracelet made usually of iron or steel, that can be used to signify religious association, as an arm-protector as well as akin to brass knuckles in close combat. Unlike the chakram, karas didn't have a sharp edge, nor were they used as throwing weapons.
In 1870s, the British Assassin Evie Frye employed karas, following her marriage to Jayadeep Mir and subsequent move to India. She used them skillfully when she returned to London in 1888.
