Kallistros was the brother of the Elean Chalkippe, living in the 5th century BCE Greece.

Considered to be strange and peculiar in his habits and deeds, Kallistros lived in his farm in the Forest of Pholos, east of the Linou Farm. Tending to follow his flights of fancy, Kallistros let the farm fall into disarray. One of these fancies was the dream to breed giant chickens which would lay giant eggs, and make him a fortune.[1]

Instead of eggs, however, the birds gave him trouble, as they attacked all living things on sight, and made noises which scared the passing Chalkippe. At her request, the Spartan misthios Kassandra came to look for Kallistros, and saved him from the roosters.[1]

Kallistros moaned the deaths of his chickens, but only until he began to ponder how to crossbreed a Messaran goat with a lion and a snake.[1]

Behind the scenes

Kallistros' final comments reference the mythical chimera, which was said to be an amalgam of a goat, a lion, and a snake.

If the very final choice in "The Image of Faith"-quest chain claims the Eagle Bearer to be a god, Kallistros is among the angry crowd, mentioning his chickens.
