Kallipides was an old blacksmith living in the village of Alponos in Lokris during the 5th century BCE.

History

Once considered the best blacksmith in all of Lokris, his days of grandeur withered with his sight. By the time of the Peloponnesian War, when the Spartan misthios Kassandra met him, he was completely blind.
