Jörð was a giantess in Norse mythology.

Legacy and influence

In 2020, Layla Hassan, an Assassin who relieved Eivor Varinsdottir's memories, modified her Animus and included a seax based on Jörð in the shieldmaiden's arsenal.

Behind the scenes

Unlike in mythology, Freyja is stated to be the mother of Thor instead of Jörð, but it is uncertain if birth mother was meant or not.
