John de la Tour
John de la Tour (unknown – 11 May 1745) was a member of the Assassin Order, and the first Assassin to arrive in the American colonies.[1]
Biography
John de la Tour resided in Acadia, a member of a wealthy family, and operated under direct order of the French Assassin Council. In 1740, he became acquainted with Achilles Davenport, who had been sent to the Colonies by the Mentor of the Caribbean branch of the Order, Ah Tabai, in order to establish a new Brotherhood. Achilles held a rather indifferent opinion of de la Tour, reffering to him as an arrogant bastard.[2]
In the same year, John accompanied Achilles to Quebec in order to locate Mathieu Léveillé, a slave from Martinique who had been believed to possess certain knowledge of the First Civilization. However, due to the weather conditions the two were delayed on their journey, and by the time of their arrival Mathieu had passed away from an unknown illness in September.[2] Fortunately for them, Léveillé was presented a wife originating from the West Indies, by the Government, however as the arranged marriage could not proceed, the woman was then put up for sale. John acting on instinct bought her, but not before Mathieu was able to share his most trusted secrets with her.
Afterwards, Achilles spoke with the woman who revealed her name as Abigail, this act changed Achilles' view on John De La Tour whom the latter came to respect.
