John Wilkes Booth (May 10, 1838 – April 26, 1865) was the man who plotted and executed the murder of President Abraham Lincoln. The reason for this murder was that Lincoln allowed voting rights to recently emancipated slaves, which Booth and co-conspirators did not appreciate. After he assassinated Lincoln, he fled, eventually reaching the Garrett farm. Here, he was shot fatally in the neck by Sergeant Boston Corbett and died three hours later. However, there have been theories that Booth faked his own death, and had fled to South America.

In the Assassin's Creed Universe, he was killed by Assassins. It is therefore possible that Sergeant Corbett, who disappeared after 1888, and even President Lincoln himself, may have been Assassins or were at least affiliated with them.
