Biography

Though responsible for the construction of the Great Mosque of Samarra, his credit was stolen by another man, with Ishaq being exiled and later dying in poverty.[1]

Personality and traits

When talking with Hytham during a mission in Constantinople in 867, Basim described his father as someone who "had no love in him for his son", saying that he had nothing but violence to pass on to him.[2]
