Ingrid was a female dwarf who lived in Vangrinn, Svartálfaheimr.

Biography[edit | edit source]

Ingrid fled to Hodda Shelter when the Muspels invaded the region. After what she thought was sufficient time in hiding, she left the enclave only to be abducted by a joint force of Muspel and jötnar warriors, who promptly threw her into a pit of snakes as torture. Luckily, the Æsir lord Havi was passing by and quickly slew the captors, thus rescuing the dwarf. Ingrid thanked the Asgardian, informed him that she had last heard the soldiers planned to meet their leader in the mountains, north of Svöduforsar, then returned to her shelter. When she saw Havi visit later, she approached the god again and gave him a gift in gratitude for saving her.[1]
