The Illyrian Helmet was a type of helmet originating from Illyria, the western region of the Balkans inhabitated by the Illyrians.
During the Peloponnesian War, the use of the helmet spreaded south to Greece, when it was often sold by blacksmiths. The misthios Kassandra acquired the helmet during her journey throughout Greece.[1]
