Hughes (died 1715) was a pirate and the helmsman for the Jacobite, a brig captained by Abel Bramah.

In June 1715, the frigate was engaged by the Royal Navy frigate HMS Intrigue off the coast of Cape Bonavista on the island of Cuba, and Hughes died during the attack, being substitued by Edward Kenway before the ship's magazine exploded.[1]
