Hippopotamus

Hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) are a large, mostly herbivorous, semi-aquatic mammal native to sub-Saharan Africa. The common hippopotamus inhabits rivers, lakes and mangrove swamps, where territorial bulls preside over a stretch of river and groups of five to thirty females and young. The hippopotamus is considered to be very aggressive and has frequently been reported as charging and attacking boats.^[82] Small boats can be capsized by hippos and passengers can be injured or killed by the animals or drown.
