Henry Mayhew
Henry Mayhew (25 November 1812 – 25 July 1887) was an English journalist and playwright.
Biography
In May 1853, a three-volume copy of Mayhew's 1851 journalistic observation London Labour and the London Poor, was given to the Assassin apprentice Simeon Price, living under the alias "Jack Straw", by his mentor Oscar Kane. After having finished the thesis among the other books given, Price returned them to Kane.[1]
Behind the scenes
Henry Mayhew is a historical figure and character mentioned in novel Assassin's Creed: The Engine of History – The Magus Conspiracy written by Kate Heartfield, where he is in fact misidentified and erroneously referred to as "Richard Mayhew," the academic and later Bishop of Hereford.
