Henri Marchand

Henri Marchand was a French slave on Saint-Domingue. Even though the Code Noir prohibited it, he had had an education and was one of the few literate slaves on the island. In 1735, he was sent with the French Geodesic Mission by the Assassin Adéwalé to spy on the French and pass on the knowledge they gained.
