Helsinki
Helsinki is the capital, and largest city of Finland.
History
Helsinki was established as a trading town by King Gustav I of Sweden in 1550. In 1809 Sweden lost Helsinki, and the rest of Finland to the Russian Empire during the the Finnish War. Following the conflict, the newly formed Grand Duchy of Finland became an autonomous state of the Russian Empire.
In 1812, Tsar Alexander I of Russia moved the Finnish capital from Turku to Helsinki. Over a century later, in 1917, Finland gained independence from the newly formed Russian Republic, and Helsinki remained the country's capital.
Around 10 May 2014, the Assassin ship Altair II docked in Helsinki, where the current leader of the Assassins Gavin Banks tasked his crew with locating his predecessor, William Miles.
