Green sea turtle
The Green sea turtle (Chelonia mydas) is an endangered species of sea turtle.
Whilst green sea turtles can be found worldwide, they only live in tropical and sub-tropical seas. They could also be found in the Mediterranean Sea at the times of ancient Greece. The Spartan misthios Kassandra encountered these turtles when diving underwater. They were very skittish and would scurry away when she approached them.[1]
Pirate Edward Kenway encountered several green sea turtles crawling on the beaches of islands in the Caribbean. Though it was possible to kill them, they didn't drop anything useful for trade.[2]
