The Grand Temple of Apollo was the largest of the three temples dedicated to the Greek god Apollo, located on the island of Delos in Greece. Its construction began when the island became the seat of the Delian League between 475 and 450 BCE.
Built on top of the akropolis of Sanctuary of Apollo, beneath the temple was an ancient tomb.[1]
Outside of it was erected the Colossus of the Naxians, a giant statue of the god.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War the temple was visited by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who claimed the valuables within the temple.[1]
