Gorani Marble Quarry
The Gorani Marble Quarry was a quarry located in the footsteps of Mount Taygetos in Lakonia, Greece.
In 429 BCE, the Spartan misthios Kassandra was charged by Brasidas to visit the quarry eliminate the Spartan traitor who was arming the helots. In addition, she was also asked to destroy the weapon racks in the quarry to prevent a rebellion.[1]
