Alexandros
Alexandros was a 1st century BCE Greek herbalist who lived in the Paraitonion mountains of Egypt.
Many of Alexandros' patrons were individuals who had ties to corrupted officials in the court of pharaoh Ptolemy XIII and the Phylakitai. This enabled Alexandros to gain a accumulate a large portion of wealth which he stored in his villa in the mountains. One of his patrons, Heliodoros, eventually discovered Alexandros' patronizing of said individuals, and thus renounced his refusal to conduct business with him any longer. In his letter to the healer, Heliodoros condemned Alexandros' actions and wish upon his downfall.
Sure enough by 47 BCE, Alexandros' villa was overrun by a band of bandits who made it their hideout, while his fate was left unknown.[1]
