Ginnungagap

Ginnungagap was the vast land between the Nine Realms. It is also known as the void where the fires of Múspellsheimr met with the cold of Jötunheimr.[1]
History
In the Isu Era, the abyss of Ginnungagap became larger after the Æsir brothers Vé, Vili, and Odin killed the proto-being Ymir, who was born in the void, and whose corpse flourished the land with grass, waters, and mountains.[2]
In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Svartalfheim, the Æsir lord Havi wore the armor pieces of the Jotun Armor Set after defeating five leaders of Suttungr's Outriders and ventured through one of the realm's dams portals. On a cliff in the void, he met with the leader of the outriders, Riekr, who, upon looking at his armor, challenged Havi after realizing her scouts had been killed. After a lengthy duel, Havi bested and killed Riekr, ending the outriders' influence in Svartalfheim.[3]
