Gilgamesh
Gilgamesh was a historical king of the Sumerian city-state of Uruk and a major hero in ancient Mesopotamian mythology.
According to legend, Gilgamesh slayed the giant Humbaba in combat and forged the sword Humbaba's Fang from his tooth. By the 1st century BCE, the sword would end up in Ptolemaic Egypt, where it was recovered by the Medjay Bayek of Siwa.[1] Gilgamesh's stories persisted through the centuries into the Abbasid Caliphate, as the thief Nehal later playfully compared the king of myth to her friend Basim Ibn Ishaq's desire to leave a legacy in Baghdad.[2]
