Forty Thieves Hideout

The Forty Thieves Hideout was the base camp of the Forty Thieves and their leader, the King of Thieves, that was situated in the southern part of the Wilderness of Baghdad in the 9th century.
History
In the 860s, the Hidden One Basim Ibn Ishaq and Ali Baba's daughter Murjana ventured towards the hideout in search of her missing father. Spotting the thieves outside, Basim promised to deal with the guards. After he took them out, they both found Ali Baba dead near the hideout's door. Saddened, Murjana and Basim left before more thieves came and found them.[1] However, they kept attempting to kill Murjana but Basim stepped in and promised to kill their leader.[2] Venturing back to the hideout, Basim came to the doorway and repeated the phrase to open its doors.[3]
Within the hideout, Basim made it through the guards and found the King of Thieves interrogating one of his henchmen while surrounded by their loot. Instantly, Basim assassinated the King of Thieves while Murjana later arrived to see his dead corpse. Relieved, Murjana was now free and planned to leave Baghdad to venture the unknown just as she dreamed. She thanked Basim and gifted him the King of Thieves' sword as payment before bidding him farewell.[3]
