Fortunée Jean

Fortunée Jean was a slave of French origins on the island of Saint-Domingue. She was one of the few literate slaves on the island, due to the fact that the Code Noir prohibited slaves from getting an education. On the orders of the Assassin Adéwalé, she and two other slaves were sent on the French Geodesic Mission of Louis Godin, so that they could pass the gained knowledge on to the Assassins and Maroons when they had the chance.
