Forts replace Borgia Towers from Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, now incorporating more requirments in order to liberate the surrounding area. There are 7 forts in-game, each varying in difficulty to overcome. Each one posessing a powder reserve, which must be destroyed; and a captain, who must be killed. Finally lowering the flag would liberate the fort from British control and allow for Fast Travel to it's location.
