Aleksandr Ilyich Ulyanov (Russian: Алекса́ндр Ильи́ч Улья́нов; April 12, 1866 – May 20, 1887) was a Russian revolutionary and older brother of Vladimir Lenin. Aleksandr graduated from the college of Simbrisk in 1883 with honors and entered Petersburg, where majored in natural sciences and earned a gold medal in zoology. During his university days Aleksandr participitated in illegal meetings and demostrations, and also gave out pamphlets and angered both workers and students. In 1886, he became one of the founding members of the "Terrorist Faction", an off-shoot of the Narodnaya Volya party.

Aleksandr was a member of the Russian sect of the Assassin Order and a personal friend of Nikolai Orelov. However, he was taken prisoner after an assassination attempt on Tsar Alexander III and was later hanged, with Nikolai watching from the crowd.
