Alcestre Monastery was a monastery situated west of Ravensthorpe in Leicestershire, England, then part of the Kingdom of Mercia during the Anglo-Saxon period.
In 873, the monastery was raided by the Raven Clan of Vikings led by Eivor in order to obtain materials enough to build a forge for the Ravensthorpe's blacksmith, Gunnar.[1]
Trivia
*Alcestre Monastery may be based on Alcester Abbey, a real Benedictine monastery located outside of the town of Alcester, in modern-day Warwickshire. Comparing the game map to a map of England shows the two monasteries in roughly the same location; however, the actual abbey was founded in 1138 CE, long after the events of the game.
