"I'd be lying if I said I was heartbroken. Jean-Paul drove my lover away! So overprotective, and with all the enemies he's made in Paris I was living in constant terror!"
―Albertine on her brother, 1793.[src]

Charlotte Albertine Marat (June 1760 – 29 October 1841) was the sister of leading Jacobin politician Jean-Paul Marat.

Overprotective of his sister, Marat disapproved of Albertine's lover and drove him away. Due to Marat's revolutionary ideals, Albertine and the family was also put in constant fear of reprisal from his enemies. After Marat was assassinated, Arno Dorian questioned Albertine, who claimed not to be affected by his death, having lost her lover and lived in fear because of him.
