Ezio Auditore de Firenze is to be the protagonist of Assassin's Creed 2. Ezio is a Florentian nobleman, in the year 1476. He is a descendent of Altaïr and an ancestor of Desmond Miles. It is unknown why he becomes a member of the Assassins, but there is a possibility that he did it, because his family was murdered by rival families, maybe which are Templars. Ezio is also announced to be allied with the famous inventor/artist Leonardo da Vinci and the writer/philosopher Niccolò Machiavelli.

Equipment

It has been announced that Ezio will have a variety of weapons including two hidden blades, an axe, a hammer, a mace, a spear, two different sword types, and a halberd. It has also been revealed that at some point in the game, Ezio will be able to use DaVinci's flying machine.

Trivia

'Ezio means "Eagle" in Italian, simillar to Altaïr who's name means "Bird of Prey".
