Ezio Auditore de Firenze is to be the protagonist of Assassin's Creed 2. Ezio is a Florentian nobleman, in the year 1476. He is a descendent of Altaïr and an ancestor of Desmond Miles. It is unknown why he becomes a member of the Assassins. Ezio is also announced to be allied with the famous inventor/artist Leonardo da Vinci and the writer/philosopher Niccolo Machiavelli.
