Euripos Strait

The Euripos Strait, as seen from the north

The Euripos Strait is a thin channel between the island of Euboea and the Peloponnese. The principal port along the strait is Chalkis City.[1]

During the Peloponnesian War, the construction of a bridge to cross the channel was begun, but it was opposed by Theramenes the Athenian.[2]
